The Darfur Monument

"Our ability to change the world around us, does not exist in our“big” actions, but by the small gestures that define us."  - Kilian

The monument "One" speaks loud that one can make a difference, and we should stand as one to be heard if hatred is directed to a whole people group or just one. The shear size of the sculpture ( 7 foot wide and high, 14 foot long) depicts that ethnic killing is hard to overlook.

Darfur Today...

September 5th 2009

Since the July 2009 report in respect to hunger in the region, The situation has worsened and people are dying of hunger especially the poor women and children. There is no food available. The people are surviving on wild leaves and roots, but some are poisoned to death or develop other heath complications.  It is such a shame when we have so much to eat in America and are so busy playing games with health program politicians that an article about thousands dying of hunger in Sudan can't even find a place in the news or even on the second page of our newspapers. The President, Congress, Senators and the public seem blind to Sudan tragedies.

What to do...

Prayer is the most we can do, second to that, be a blessing by undergirding the humanitarian aid that keeps the people of Darfur alive for another day. Funds from commissioning the Darfur Monument will outfit a recently built hospital near Darfur with much needed medical equipment. call 252 796 5665 for info. on commissioning. or email here

more about "One".

"I was at a dinner discussing the humanitarian need in Darfur when the man I was talking to said "Where were they when we needed them?" I then understood how easy it is to be compassionless when we have someone to blame- 'As if' we were ever faced with death by starvation or mutilation. "- Kilian
